The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And your Lord glorify 3 And your clothing purify 4 And pollution shun. 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 And give him vast riches, 12 And sons present by his side. 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then he frowned and he scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? 27 It does not allow to live, and neither leaves [to die,] 28 It strips away the hide of man. 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
