Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known calculated term. 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
