The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 a fitting requital, 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
