The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who range themselves in rows; 1 By the angels driving away. 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 rejected, and theirs is an everlasting chastisement, 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock 12 And when they are warned they pay no heed. 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we (then) verily be resurrected? 16 And also our forefathers? 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 'This is the Day of Decision, even that you cried lies to. 21
