(Muhammad) say, "I am only a warner. The only Lord is God, the Almighty. 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, all-mighty, all-forgiving." 66 Say, "It (facts about the supremacy of God) is the greatest message, 67 "From which you turn away! 68 I had no knowledge of the chiefs on high when they disputed; 69 Naught is revealed to me save that I am a plain warner. 70 Recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a human being from clay; 71 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him prostrate, 72 The angels fell down prostrate, every one, 73 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. 74 He (Allah) said: 'iblis, what prevented you from prostrating yourself towards that which I have created with My Hands? Have you become too proud, or are you among the grand' 75 He said: "I am better than he. You created me from fire, and him from clay." 76 "Begone! You are accursed: 77 Upon thee shall rest My curse, till the Day of Doom.' 78 He said: "O Lord, give me respite till the day the dead rise from their graves." 79 (Allah) said: "Respite then is granted thee- 80 until the day of the known time.' 81 He said, "By Your Honour, I will lead all of them astray, 82 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 83 (Allah) said: "Then it is just and fitting- and I say what is just and fitting- 84 That I will fill Hell with you [Iblis (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together." 85 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'For this I ask of you no wage, and I am not of those who take things upon themselves. 86 It is naught but an admonition unto the worlds. 87 and after a while you shall know its news' 88
