The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
