Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
