The notables among his people who had refused to believe and who denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and those whom We had endowed with ease and comfort in this life, cried out: "This is no other than a mortal like yourselves who eats what you eat and drinks what you drink. 33 So if you follow a man like yourself you will certainly be doomed. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be brought forth? 35 ۞ Away! away with that wherewith ye are promised; 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 He is only a man who invents lies against God, so have no faith in him". 38 (The apostle prayed): "O Lord, deliver me, for they accuse me of lies." 39 God replied, "After a very short time they will certainly regret for their deeds." 40 And the Cry seized them justly, and We made them as scum; so away with the people of the evildoers! 41 After them We produced other generations 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor can it put it back. 43 We sent Our messengers one after the other but whenever a Messenger would come to a nation, its people would call him a liar and We would destroy one nation after the other, thus, only their stories were left behind them. God keeps the unbelievers far away from His Mercy. 44 We then sent Moosa and his brother Haroon, with Our signs and a clear proof. 45 Towards Firaun and his court members – in response they were haughty, and they were in dominance. 46 and they said, 'What, shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, whose people are our servants?' 47 Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed: 48 And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, that they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
