And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. 36 And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright! 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 It will be said [to such a person], "You have done wrong. Having partners in punishment will be of no avail to you today." 39 What! can you then make the deaf to hear or guide the blind and him who is in clear error? 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 or We shall show you what We have promised them; for surely We have complete power over them. 42 Therefore hold fast to what We have divinely revealed to you; indeed you are upon the Straight Path. (The Holy Prophets can never go astray). 43 And lo! it is in truth a Reminder for thee and for thy folk; and ye will be questioned. 44 Yet [above all else,] ask any of Our apostles whom We sent forth before thy time whether We have ever allowed that deities other than the Most Gracious be worshipped! 45
