Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent - 1 Who created death and life in order to try you to see who of you are best of deed. He is all-mighty and forgiving, 2 Who hath created seven heavens in storeys. Thou shalt not behold in the Compassionate's creation any over-sight; then repeat thy look, beholdest thou any crack? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and We made them a stoning for the satans, We have prepared the punishment of the Blaze for them. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 6 When they are thrown into hell, they will hear its roaring while it boils. 7 as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say, “Yes, why not – indeed a Herald of Warning did come to us – in response we denied and said ‘Allah has not sent down anything – you are not except in a great error’.” 9 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames. 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. 13 Would He not know, He Who has created, when He is All-Subtle, All-Aware? 14
