Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said, 'O my people, I am unto you a clear warner, 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride. 7 Then indeed I called them openly; 8 then indeed I spoke publicly unto them, and I spoke unto them secretly, 9 And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. 10 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 how He will then return you to it and bring you forth again, 18 And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
