The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the defrauders, 1 who, when people measure for them, take full measure, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 unto a mighty day 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 It is a written book, 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
