Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
