We answered the prayer of Noah who had prayed to Us before and saved him and his followers from the great disaster. 76 We helped him against people who denied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). Verily, they were a people given to evil. So We drowned them all. 77 And David and Solomon, when they gave judgment concerning the field, when people's sheep had strayed and browsed therein by night; and We were witnesses to their judgment. 78 So We gave the understanding thereof unto Sulaiman; and unto each We vouchsafed judgment and knowledge. And We so subjected the mountains that they shall hallow us along with Daud, and also the birds; and We were the doers. 79 And We taught him the art of making the coats of mail for you that it may protect you from your violence; are ye then thankful? 80 And We subjected the fast wind for Sulaiman, which moved by his command towards the land in which We have placed blessings; and We know everything. 81 and of the Satans some dived for him and did other work besides; and We were watching over them. 82 ۞ And remember Ayyub (Job), when he called his Lord that, “Hardship has afflicted me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who have mercy.” 83 We accepted his prayer and removed the affliction from him, and We not only restored to him his family but as many more with them as a mercy from Us and as a lesson to the worshippers. 84 And Ishmael, Idris, and ThulKifl (the son of Job) each were patient. 85 We admitted them to Our Mercy, for they were of the righteous. 86 And (remember) Dhan-Nun (Jonah), when he went off in anger, and imagined that We shall not punish him (i.e. the calamites which had befallen him)! But he cried through the darkness (saying): La ilaha illa Anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah)], Glorified (and Exalted) are You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]. Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers." 87 Then we heard his prayer and saved him from the anguish. Thus we save believers. 88 And Zachariah when he called to his Lord saying: 'Lord, do not let me remain by myself; You are the Best of inheritors' 89 So We responded to him and gave him Yahya and made his wife fit for him; surely they used to hasten, one with another In deeds of goodness and to call upon Us, hoping and fearing and they were humble before Us. 90 And she who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her of Our inspiration and made her and her son a sign for the nations. 91 'Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so serve Me.' 92 And they broke their religion (into sects) between them: to Us shall all come back. 93
