The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
