When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 He said: "You are people I do not know." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 Then came the people of the city, exulting at the news. 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79
