The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
