The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta'. Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Clear Book; 1 it is guidance and good news for the believers 2 who are constant in prayer and spend in charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 3 We have made the deeds of those who do not believe in the life to come, attractive to them and they wander about blindly. 4 It is they whom the worst of suffering awaits: for it is they, they who in the life to come shall be the greatest losers! 5 Lo! as for thee (Muhammad), thou verily receivest the Qur'an from the presence of One Wise, Aware. 6 (Remember) when Moosa said to his wife, “I have sighted a fire; I will soon bring its news to you, or bring for you an ember from it so that you may warm yourselves.” 7 But when Moses came to the fire, a call was sounded: "Blessed is He Who is in the fire and whatever is around it. Glory be to Allah, the Sustainer of all in the Universe. 8 O Moses, I am that God, the mighty and all-wise. 9 Throw down your staff." When Moses saw his staff on the ground moving like a living creature, he stepped back and did not come forward again. The Lord said,"Moses, do not be afraid. Messengers do not become afraid in My presence". 10 save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. 11 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness; a sign among the nine signs towards Firaun and his people; they are indeed a lawless nation.” 12 But when Our Clear Signs came to them, they said: "This is plain magic." 13 And they gainsaid them, out of spite and arrogance, although their souls were convinced thereof. So behold! what hath been the end of the corruptors. 14
