Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 it is a warning to man, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
