Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
