(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
