Iron (Al-Hadeed)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
All whatever is in the heavens and in the earth proclaims the Purity of Allah; and He only is the Most Honourable, the Wise. 1 His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, It is He Who gives life and causes death; and He is Able to do all things. 2 He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent: and He has full knowledge of all things. 3 It was He who created the heavens and earth in six Days [periods] and then ascended the throne. He knows what enters the earth and what comes out of it; what descends from the sky and what ascends to it. He is with you wherever you are; He sees all that you do; 4 To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: and all affairs are referred back to Allah. 5 He plungeth the night into the day, and plungeth the day into the night, and He is the Knower of whatsoever is in the breasts. 6 Believe in Allah and His messenger, and spend (in charity) out of the (substance) whereof He has made you heirs. For, those of you who believe and spend (in charity),- for them is a great Reward. 7 And why should you not believe in God, seeing that the Apostle calls you to believe in [Him who is] your Sustainer, and [seeing that] He has taken a pledge from you? [Why should you not believe in Him] if you are able to believe [in anything]? 8 It is He who sends down to His Servant clear revelations, so that He may lead you out of darkness into light. God is indeed compassionate and merciful to you. 9 And why do you not spend in the cause of Allah while to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth? Not equal among you are those who spent before the conquest [of Makkah] and fought [and those who did so after it]. Those are greater in degree than they who spent afterwards and fought. But to all Allah has promised the best [reward]. And Allah, with what you do, is Acquainted. 10
