Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
