The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
