In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta, Ha. 1 We have not sent the Quran to make you, (Muhammad), miserable, 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 The ever-merciful, established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 Allah, there is no god except He. To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 And did the news of Moosa reach you? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family: "Hold on! I have just perceived a fire; perhaps I will bring a brand from it for you, or I will find some guidance at the fire about the way to follow." 10 When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 What is that, Moses, thou hast in thy right hand?' 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, bring down leaves for my sheep with it and I need it for other reasons. 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 The Lord said, "Hold the serpent and do not be afraid; We will bring it back to its original form." 21 "Now - as another Sign - place your hand under your arm and it will come out sheer white without harm (or stain). 22 That We may go on showing you Our greater signs. 23 And go to Pharaoh now for he has transgressed all bounds." 24

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
