Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
