Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
