No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 about the sinners. 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 "And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly." 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
