Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In a Garden on high, 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
