Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
