Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
