Believers, remember Allah frequently, 41 And glorify Him morning and evening. 42 He it is Who sendeth His benedictions to you and His angels also that He may bring you forth from darknesses into light; and unto the believers He is ever Merciful. 43 On the day when they will be brought into the presence of their Lord, their greeting to each other will be, "Peace be with you." God has prepared an honorable reward for them. 44 O Prophet! surely We have sent you as a witness, and as a bearer of good news and as a warner, 45 And to call (men) to God by His leave, and as a lamp resplendent. 46 Announce to the believers the good tidings that Allah has kept bounteous blessings in store for them. 47 And obey not the unbelievers and the hypocrites; heed not their hurt, but put thy trust in God; God suffices as a guardian. 48 Believers, when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, you may not require them to observe a waiting period that you might reckon against them. So make provision for them and release them in an honourable manner. 49 O Herald of the Hidden! We have indeed made lawful for you the wives to whom you have paid their bridal money, and the bondwomen you possess whom Allah gave you as war booty, and the daughters of your paternal uncles, and the daughters of your paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles, and the daughters of your maternal aunts, those who migrated with you; and the believing woman if she gifts her life to the Prophet, if the Prophet desires to take her in marriage; this is exclusively for you, not for your followers; We indeed know what We have enjoined upon the Muslims concerning their wives and the bondwomen they possess – this exclusivity for you is so that you may not have constraints; and Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful. 50 ۞ You may put off whom you please of them, and you may take to you whom you please, and whom you desire of those whom you had separated provisionally; no blame attaches to you; this is most proper, so that their eyes may be cool and they may not grieve, and that they should be pleased, all of them with what you give them, and Allah knows what is in your hearts; and Allah is Knowing, Forbearing. 51 No [other] women shall henceforth be lawful to thee nor art thou [allowed] to supplant [any of] them by other wives, even though their beauty should please thee greatly: [none shall be lawful to thee] beyond those whom thou [already] hast come to possess. And God keeps watch over everything. 52
