Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
