And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
