Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O THOU enwrapped one! 1 Stand up in Prayer by night, all but a small part of it; 2 For half the night, or reduce some from it. 3 Or add (a little) thereto - and chant the Qur'an in measure, 4 Behold, We shall cast upon you a Weighty Word. 5 surely the first part of the night is heavier in tread, more upright in speech, 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. 8 Lord of the East and the West; there is no god but He; so take Him for a Guardian. 9 And bear thou patiently what they say, and forsake them graciously. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the deniers, who live a life of comfort, and bear with them a little longer. 11 Verily We shall have fetters with Us, and a roaring furnace, 12 And food which choketh (the partaker), and a painful doom 13 (They will come across all this) on the Day when the earth and the mountains shall tremble violently and the mountains shall crumble into heaps of scattered sand. 14 Surely We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness over you, just as We had sent a Messenger to Pharaoh. 15 Then Fir'awn disobeyed the apostle, wherefore We laid hold of him with a painful hold. 16 How, then, if you refuse to acknowledge the truth, will you protect yourselves on that Day which shall turn the hair of children grey, 17 The heaven will split asunder with its grief; the promise of Allah will surely occur. 18 Verily, this is an admonition, therefore whosoever will, let him take a Path to His Lord! 19
