The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 And your Lord glorify 3 and purify your clothing, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 and designated for him ample wealth, 12 and sons standing before him, 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 He planned and plotted. 18 May he be condemned! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 It scorches people's skin 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
