I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
