He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 You neglect. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
