The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
