Do not the people who inherited the earth from the (earlier) inhabitants perceive that We could afflict them too for their sins if We pleased, and put seals on their hearts that they may not hear (the voice of truth)? 100 Such were the townships. We relate some tidings of them unto thee (Muhammad). Their messengers verily came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they could not believe because they had before denied. Thus doth Allah print upon the hearts of disbelievers (that they hear not). 101 And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient. 102 Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters! 103 Moses said: O Pharaoh! Lo! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, 104 I must only speak what is true about God. I have brought you miracles from your Lord; therefore, let the children of Israel go free". 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you should be of the truthful." 106 Therefore Moosa put down his staff – it immediately turned into a visible python. 107 Then he drew out his hand, and it appeared luminous to all beholders. 108
