Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
