Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 As justification or warning, 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
