The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
