The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
