۞ It is He Who created you from a single soul, and from him made its mate for him to gain comfort with her; so when the male covered her, she was burdened lightly in her womb, and she therefore moved easily carrying it; and when she felt the burden heavy, they both cried to their Lord Allah, “Indeed You may give to us a child as You will, so we will surely be thankful.” 189 But when He gave them a Salih (good in every aspect) child, they ascribed partners to Him (Allah) in that which He has given to them. High be Allah, Exalted above all that they ascribe as partners to Him. (Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 9, Page 148). 190 Attribute they as partners to Allah those who created naught, but are themselves created, 191 They have no power to help others. nor can they help themselves. 192 It makes no difference whether you call on them or remain silent. If you call them to the right path, they will not follow you. 193 Indeed those whom you (the disbelievers) worship besides Allah are slaves like you – so call them and they may answer you, if you are truthful! 194 Do they have feet to walk on, or hands to hold with, or eyes to see and ears to hear with? Say to them: "Call your compeers, and work out a plot against me, and do not give me time. 195 My protector is God who sent down the Book, for it is He who protects the righteous. 196 "And those whom you call upon besides Him (Allah) cannot help you nor can they help themselves." 197 And if you call them to guidance, they hear not and you will see them looking at you, yet they see not. 198 Use thou indulgence and enjoin seemliness and turn away from the ignorant. 199 If Satan will try to seduce you, seek refuge from God. God is All-hearing and All-knowing. 200 Indeed, those who fear Allah - when an impulse touches them from Satan, they remember [Him] and at once they have insight. 201 But their brethren (the evil ones) plunge them deeper into error, and never relax (their efforts). 202 And if you do not bring them a miracle [according to their (i.e. Quraish-pagans') proposal], they say: "Why have you not brought it?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This (the Quran) is nothing but evidences from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe." 203 When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: that ye may receive Mercy. 204 Remember your Lord in your soul with humility and fear, and not with a loud voice, morning and evening, and do not be among the inattentive. 205 Those who are with your Lord are not too proud to worship Him. They exalt Him and to Him they prostrate. ۩ 206
