The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
