Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
HaMeem. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Should We divert this Good Counsel from you because you are a people immersed in extravagance? 5 How many a Prophet We sent among the ancients, 6 And never came there a prophet to them but they mocked him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 And surely to our Lord we must return. 14 AND YET, they attribute to Him offspring from among some of the beings created by Him! Verily, most obviously bereft of all gratitude is man! 15
