Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a lofty garden, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 And not known my account! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
