In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
