Thamud denied the warning 23 They said: 'Are we to follow a mortal who is one of us? Then indeed, we would surely be in error and insane. 24 "Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Salih (Saleh)] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!" 25 Tomorrow shall they know who is the liar, the insolent one. 26 Verily We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them thou and have patience. 27 And tell them that the water [of the well] is to be divided between them, and that each one should drink in turn." 28 But they called their companion who took hold of her and hamstrung her. 29 How terrible was My punishment and warning. 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 32 The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 as a blessing from Us: this is how We reward the thankful. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 they even wanted to seduce his guests -- but We blinded them, and said, "Taste My punishment now that you have scorned My warnings!" -- 37 And assuredly there met them early in the morning a torment settled. 38 "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 39 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
