Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
